🖼️ Schofield Arts & Crafts: Framer's Workshops

Unlock your inner artist and master the craft of custom framing! The Schofield Barracks Arts & Crafts Center invites you to join our hands-on Framer's Workshops. Whether you want to learn the art of professional mat cutting and mounting or gain experience building your own custom wooden frames and cutting glass, we have the perfect studio session for you.

At the conclusion of either workshop, participants will be certified to utilize the professional machines in our Framing Workshop during scheduled DIY open studio sessions!

📋 General Workshop Requirements

• Age Restriction: Open to participants ages 18 and older only. Strictly nobody under the age of 18 is permitted inside the Framing Workshop.

• Required Safety Dress Code: Closed-toe shoes are strictly required to enter the workshop. Long pants are highly recommended for safety.

• Enrollment Limits: Minimum of 3 / Maximum of 6 participants per class.

• Pre-registration Required: Registration must be completed at least 48 hours in advance.

🛠️ Workshop Options & Details

1. Beginner's Mat Cutting and Mounting Workshop

Gain hands-on experience with manual mat cutting and professional artwork mounting. Each participant will learn the techniques behind layout design while cutting an 8x10 single-opening mat and an 11x14 double-opening mat.

• Cost: $60 per participant (All workshop materials provided)

2. Beginner's Glass Cutting and Frame Making

Build a professional custom frame from scratch! You will gain hands-on experience using our studio glass cutter, pneumatic frame cutter, and thumbnail joiner. Each participant will cut their own glass and construct a custom 8x10 frame from predetermined frame stock.

• Cost: $60 per participant (All workshop materials provided)

• Optional Upgrade: For an additional material cost, participants can schedule to stay after class to learn how to build a custom shadow box (pricing depends on your desired frame size). Pre-registration is required.
